Why Use Scavenger Hunts?

• Scavenger hunts allow teachers to compose thoughtful questions to help students learn about a subject by going to a specified Web site to find the information.

• Scavenger hunts allow students to learn academic concepts while they develop Internet navigation skills.

Steps to Follow in Creating Scavenger Hunts:

• The first step is to identify an idea/concept that you would like to reinforce or introduce.

• Research the topic using a search engine and search for web sites that reinforce/introduce the concept.

• Develop questions that may be answered at each site. Be sure to keep track of site name, URL,description and question.
