Academic Honesty Statement
WGU expects that all work you submit for grading is your own work and the result of your own preparation. DO NOT submit the work of others as your own. If you copy, quote, or paraphrase the work of others, or if you incorporate their ideas into your own original work, you must provide a complete reference citation.
WGU policy states that all work submitted for assessment shall be “solely created by the student.” By submitting this assessment you are confirming your observance of this policy.
APA Citation
If you find it is necessary for you to use sources in completing your performance task, you will need to be sure to cite all of your sources correctly. For all of your citations you should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) style guide. It has specific guidelines for when it is necessary to provide citations and how those citations should be formatted. Please note that it is considered plagiarism if you fail to cite your sources correctly.
For a helpful resource on APA style, as well as WGU policies regarding citations, refer to the APA Resources web link below.
Academic Authenticity Verification
Every student submission will be processed through Turnitin prior to being evaluated. Turnitin is a system that checks for plagiarism. Up to 30% of your submission may come from other sources, when cited properly. The remainder of your submission must be original work. You will be able to see the Turnitin report prior to officially submitting your work for evaluation in TaskStream, so if there are areas of concern, you will have the opportunity to make modifications. If your submission exceeds 30% of non-original work, it will be noted as having originality issues and will be referred for further investigation. For information regarding the consequences of plagiarism and other forms of academic dishonesty, see the code of student conduct in the student handbook.
