Interpersonal skills are extremely important to develop in order to be successful and effective in philanthropy. Since my passions are health and ministry, I have focused on those topics for most of my research and class projects. Salud de la Minoria means Minority Health. I completed a research paper and presentation on the topic for Spanish Composition class. Through research and examining the strategies of others in addressing issues, I have been able to decide on my own position on issues. I found that there are many different ways to collaborate between business, nonprofit, and other sectors. Working as a team is important and leadership skills are important to grow. I intereviewed a church planter for Religion in Philanthropy and found that collaboration is key to powerful impact. The church works with the local YMCA which provides greater visibility, an attentive audience, and different programming. I was able to learn more about the importance of learship skills, teamwork, and addressing issues in progressive ways.
