On a game week, around 30-35 hours
Rate of pay
Initially $8.50 an hour, and then in my second year they raised all interns to a payrate of $10 an hour
Type of Orientation and Training
We had an intern orientation to go over the guidebook/expectations that was held by the directors and group taught.
After the basics, we were all just thrown into it. The year I arrived had all new interns and we had to figure a lot out from trial and error. Most of our teaching was hands-on and differing for every situation we faced. I was nervous at times, but I found it built up my confidence. With every misstep, I was more prepared next time. Although, not everyone likes to learn this way, I was grateful for the opportunity to try and fail and then learn a lesson.
