Interested in becoming involved in the ICCI community or any of your neighboring communities? Here are some suggestions that may provide a sense of direction as to how to contribute to our organization. This also provides informative details about our organization's goals, basic requirements, and collaboration with other community organizations to exceed to our fullest!

10 Ways YOU Could Become Involved!

  1. Visit our Web Site
    • Stay better informed of the resources our organization has to offer, including details about our weekday fulltime school, Sunday School, community outreach, and religious activities. Visit: www.iccionline.com/
  2. Help the Humanitarian Cause
    • ICCI is an organization that supports any humanitarian cause. Thus, we regularly are in collaboration with a number of humanitarian organizations including American Muslims for Palestine, Zakat Foundation, and Baitulmaal
    • All three of these organizations work to support the humanitarian rights of underprivileged individuals abroad. They regularly hold information meetings and monthly events to carry out their service work internationally.

  3. Advocate for Social Justice
    • ICCI greatly supports social advocacy and justice
    • We have great ties to social justice organizations, including:
      1. Syrian American Youth
      2. CAIR Chicago
      3. The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago.
    • These organizations regularly hold events to spread awareness about violations of individual rights within the United States and Internationally. They work by holding campaigns and rallies to combat these injustices and ICCI collaborates with these organizations by recruiting volunteers, donating, and by being heavily involved in their various campaigns.   4. Make a donation
    • Every penny counts and goes towards making our organization exceed to its fullest potential! Attend our fundraising dinners that also allow you to meet people and establish ties with individuals within the community including our board members and religious leaders!  Visit: www.iccionline.com/
  5. Stop by our office
    • Our organization is always looking for volunteers in any way they can help from teaching the kids Arabic and Quran to helping with basic office work. Any moment of your time is always greatly appreciated as all of the workers at ICCI are volunteers themselves.
  6. Connect with Chicago
    • ICCI is an Islamic religious institution that works in collaboration with surrounding Islamic institutions in the Chicago land area. If you’re interested in learning more about faith, specifically Islam, attend the weekly lectures at our institution or any local Islamic institution including the Mosque Foundation, Islamic Foundation, and Muslim Education Center! Subscribe to any of their monthly newsletters that include a new topic of faith each month in addition to monthly events!   7. Save the Environment
    • Islam is a religion that advocates for respect to one’s surroundings and environment. It is deemed crucial to take care of our home – Earth. This includes support for sustainability to the environment and recycling. Live environmentally conscious by thinking twice before you dispose of something that can be recycled instead
  8. Connect with Interfaith
    • ICCI is heavily involved with other faith groups and advocates to learn, engage, and work together with various groups of faith in the surrounding communities.
    • ICCI is in contact with is the Interfaith Youth Core.

  10. Educate Yourself
    • Most importantly, inform yourself about the ever-growing religion of Islam
    • Gain Peace is an organization that provides very valuable information to educate the public about Islam. You may have seen their signs on inner-city Chicago busses or even billboards. www.gainpeace.com 
    • Read segments of the Quran online, Google subjects in Islam that your curious, confused, or do not know anything about. Simple curiosity and an open mind can come a long way. When you educate yourself, you can educate others and influence the masses!
