Content: This portfolio was created Spring semester of 2007, in CI 3750, Integrating Technology and Instruction, primarily under the instruction of Jeff Goodman. The purpose of this portfolio was to have a way to organize and collect information for Block 1, Block 2, and Student teaching.
Impact: By creating this portfolio, I will have a way to organize all the work I have done during my last semesters at Appalachian. It will help me to collect and display the artifacts I have gathered during Block 1, Block 2, and Student teaching. This portfolio will also be extremely useful to me when applying for a teaching position after graduation. It can be shown to administrators so that they will be able to see the level of work I do, as well as get a better idea of the type of educator I am.
Alignment: The creation of my Professional portfolio helped me to meet certain performance standards.
NETS-T Technology Standards
Nets-T Standard 1A: Demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology (as described in the ISTE National Education Technology Standards for Students).
I met this standard through the basic production of my portfolio. I had to use internet skills in order to maneuver my way through the taskstream program. I also used word processing documents to create many of my reports and reflections. I attached pictures and organized them into a slideshow, using computer programs and a digital camera. I also used tables and charts in my work for this portfolio.
