About Me

I am a senior studying psychology at IUPUI with a minor in American Sign Language. I have been drawn to the science of psychology since I was in middle school. Many close relatives of mine have mental illnesses and also my father is a high school psychology teacher; therefore, I have been exposed to both the academic and observational aspects of the discipline from a young age. I am particularly intrigued by developmental and clinical psychology.

Beyond the classroom, I am interested in experiential education. I have been involved with the Indiana Teen Institute for many years as an associate facilitator for youth programs such as SADD, Voice, and many others. My years at the Life-Health Sciences Internship Program (LHSI) have given me even further opportunities to expand on my facilitation skills. My intern year, I took a leadership role with a mentoring program for which I was an undergraduate research assistant. I was given the title of mentor manager along with the freedom to develop a mentor training program. As an intern ambassador, I have been a mentor for the interns currently enrolled in the program. This position has also given me many chances to develop presentations for conferences and showcases.

Other interests of mine include hiking, playing my ukulele, and exploring Indy. My favorite thing to do in the city is to find local “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants and coffee shops with my friends and family. My favorite hobby is performing. I love to be on stage acting, singing, and sometimes even dancing (though somewhat poorly). You may see me in productions with Performing Arts at IUPUI or Footlite Musicals, or playing in a local cover band called "The Faze."
