This above link is submitted as an artifact.  It is a link to the Syracuse Affiliate of the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children, part of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Involvement in the local affiliate demonstrates continued commitment as a professional who seeks to  integrate knowledgeable, reflective and critical prespectives within my professional development. I began as a member in 2006, became a board member in 2009 and will serve a two year commitment as president of the local chapter beginning in the fall of 2012. I contend that this artifact is demonstrative of a level IV artifact. Below you may open the attached pdf to view my current NAEYC membership card.

5B. Knowing about and upholding ethical standards and other professional guidelines.

As a continous and collaborative learner I submit the Disposition Self Assessment form which is required to be completed during EDU 479. This artifact demonstrates that I am committed to upholding ethical standards and other professional guidelines.

5C. Engaging in continuous, collaborative learning to inform practice.

To demonstrate this element I have submitted a group project from ECE 333 which I completed in the fall semester of 2009. This is a power point presentation on our shared experience during service learning at four separate Head Start Agency locations. This artifact demonstrates competency as a level IV artifact and is evidence of my commitment as a continuous collaborative learner who demonstrates critical perspectives and actively advocates for high quality practices.
