I am so incredibly honored and blessed to have been given the opportunity to participate in this fellowship during the 2017-2018 academic year. I've learned so much about the art of accompaniment and just how important it is to feel and have support. I was fortunate to have such an incredible team throughout the entire experience. What made this fellowship so significant to life is that I, as a Latina, understand many of the struggles that some of the clients were facing as immigrants through a personal level. Both of my parents came to the U.S. in search of a better life and it was not easy. Like my parent's story, thousands of other ones exist that have similar experiences. Being able to listen to other people's stories made me both reflect on mine and appreciate the things that I have, as my life journey, lies on the foundation of my upbringing.
