ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES FOR SUCCESS

1. Daily presence in class is expected. Much of what is learned happens in class between the students. This cannot be easily reproduced by an individual. Missing class does not excuse you from what is covered in class.
2. If absent, the student is expected to get information regarding the class missed from his/her STUDY BUDDY (from same class period). Information regarding the class(s) missed can be found on Sr. Jeanne’s WEBPAGE . This is especially important if you are absent for 2 days or more.
3. When you know in advance that you will be absent from class for an appointment (nurse, counseling, doctor) or activity (school, vacation, field trip, etc.) see Sr. Jeanne as soon as possible before you miss school so that you can arrange to keep-up with what you might miss.
4. When an absence falls on the day of a Test/Exam, the student should be prepared to make up the work before or after school on the Wednesday after the absence. Arrangements to do this need to be made by the student with Sr. Jeanne by email when possible or after class on the day they return.  All make up homework is due by the Wednesday after the absence unless other arrangements are made with Sr. Jeanne by the student

STUDY PRACTICES FOR SUCCESS IN THIS CLASS:
The student will do the following:

1. Behavior:  Be seated, have all materials ready and copy homework assignment and class information from the board before the bell rings.  Follow the dress code.
2. Organization: Keep a single subject notebook for class notes and discussions. Use a folder with pockets and three hole paper fasteners to keep handouts and assignments in order.
3. Study Hint:  Connect with a STUDY PARTNER who will help you when absent or when needing a study partner.  You will work with this individual during partner work in class.
4. Expectations:  Read assignments from the textbook and participate in discussions that follow.
5. Responsibility:  Complete homework assignments promptly. (points will be lost when handed in late) If absent on the day that an assignment is due, turn it in on Wednesday after you return. (Not applicable for long-term assignments and Semester Project)
6. Rubric for Special Assignments:  Complete long-term assignments and semester project on time for credit. NO EXCEPTIONS or EXCUSES ON DUE DATES.  If unable to come to school on day that Semester project is due, email to Sr. Jeanne, deliver to the office, or fax to Salpointe or mail marked-- Attention: Sister Jeanne. (Dated postmark will count as work submitted on time.) Work submitted late will recieve 10 points for completion but no points for credit.

7. Respect the classroom space. Leave the room better than you found it. Furniture and materials are here for your use, respect them and return them to their appropriate place. Do not mark surfaces in any way.  Follow the posted classroom regulations especially the restriction regarding food and gum.
