Review papers – DESCRIPTION AND EVALUATION OF
SIGNATURE PIECE ASSIGNMENT
The second paper assignment is a self-reflection and self-evaluation piece that will clarify and demonstrate your shifts in thinking about ethical and professional issues since the beginning of the course.
Instructions (#1 and 2 are preparatory exercises to assist you in focusing on the topic of the paper):
-
Take the 40-item Self-Assessment: An Inventory of Your Attitudes and Beliefs about Professional and Ethical Issues – in Chapter 1 on pages 28-38 [8th edition]).
-
Do a brief evaluation of yourself as a learner in this course. How invested were you? To what degree did you challenge yourself? Did your degree of investment and inquisitiveness about ethical and professional issues change as you worked your way through the course?
-
Write an essay that clearly describes what you consider to be the most important shifts in your thinking about ethical practice (clarification of your views and beliefs, modifications in your thinking on a given issue, gaining new insights, or acquiring a new perspective). What have you most learned about yourself and/or about what constitutes becoming an ethical practitioner? How has your thinking about ethics changed?
