Signature Piece: The signature piece is an assigned project designed to demonstrate how this course will inform the student’s future practice. The signature piece will be uploaded to TaskStream for grading to separate times. Failure to upload will result in a Zero for the assignment. This assignment should address the CACREP standards [CACREP: CMH B.1., D.6., D.8., D.9.] in the following way:

B.1.: 1-2 paragraphs which demonstrate the student understands and has the ability to apply and adhere to ethical and legal standards in clinical mental health counseling.

D.6.: 1-2 paragraphs which demonstrate how the student will use procedures for assessing and managing suicide risk in his or her future practice.

D.8.: 1-2 paragraphs which illustrate how the student plans to provide appropriate counseling strategies when working with clients with addiction and co-occurring disorders in his or her future practice.

D.9.: 1-2 paragraphs which demonstrate the student’s ability to recognize his or her own limitations as a clinical mental health counselor and how and from whom he or she will seek supervision or refer clients when appropriate.

This project will be discussed further in class. (Please note that APA guidelines should be strictly followed.) The paper should be 5-7 pages in length and will be graded on the following ten point scale:
