Signature Piece: The signature piece is an assigned project designed to demonstrate how this course will inform the student’s future practice. This assignment should address the CACREP standards [CACREP: II.3.a., 3.b. // SC G.1., M.1., M.5. // CMHC C.8.] as they pertain to the theoretical and personal perspective of the student. This project will be discussed further in class. In your practicum and internship you will be expected to write a Theoretical Position Paper for your portfolio. This paper will develop or evolve with the courses you take and the clients you see. For this class, you will begin your theoretical orientation paper and apply it to working with children and families. Explain your theory and how you will apply it to this population. How does your theory deal with personality development? Using the standards listed for this assignment, explain how your theory will help you work with and understand the impact of abuse, violence, eating disorders add, depression and how they affect personal social and academic functioning. You may take one or more of the problems listed above and give some examples of how you would use the theory.
