Science and Technology go together. Technology will be used every day in our class.

Your objectives are to:
"Communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences using a variety of media and formats.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations.
Students:
a. Understand and use technology systems.
b. Select and use applications effectively and productively.
c. Transfer current knowledge to learning of new technologies." (National Educational Technology Standard #6)

Class Technology Information: We have the priviledge of using iMac desktop computers in our class. We use them to do research, photograph our work, prepare and present class presentations, do scientific tutorials, along with many other technology based topics. Classroom computers are only used for approved science tasks. They are NOT for playing games. Failure to follow policies will disqualify you from computer use.

Technology Hints:
1. A jump drive will be needed for you to save your work. Computers are erased daily.
2. If not familiar with technology (digital photography, email, PowerPoint, Word, Photobooth, etc., start practicing. These are needed skills.
3. Photos are much better than using text.
4. Clip art, transitions, sounds, etc. have no place in a scientific presentation.

Assignment: You will be given a couple of weeks to demonstrate your technology skills. Options include:
-PowerPoint: Make a 2 minute presentation where you introduce yourself. Use many of your own photos. Teach a short science fact.
-Science Video: Demonstrate your abilities at producing digital video, and science knowledge, by producing a 2 minute video.
-Podcast: Build a 2 minute podcast about a science topic.
-Webpage: Present your science web page to the class.
-Internet Science Tutorial Presentation: Find an online science tutorial regarding one of our objectives that you think is well done. Construct a worksheet that would go along with this tutorial.
