Student Expectations for Mr. Becker’s Theology Class

</FONT>

Respect will be an important element in the day to day operation of this classroom. In being respectful of learning following these guidelines will be important:

When answering a question, making comments, and participating in a discussion raise hand.

Raise your hand to seek permission to get out of your seat.

Respect the space and property of every person in the classroom.

Using the word please and thank you will be appreciated.

Come to class prepared to learn. This includes bringing a spiral notebook, pen, pencil, and the required course textbook.

Be in your assigned seat with your notebook out on your desk. Failure to comply will result in a tardy.

When seated have good posture, sit straight forward with your feet on the floor.

Be on task for the entire class period.

Failing to follow these expectations will result in a student be corrected, and redirected to follow the above expectations. Repeated corrections in a day or numerous corrections over several days will call for a conference with Mr. Becker after school. If additional corrections are necessary you will be referred to the dean of students.

The following behaviors will result in a speedier process of action being taken. This means that we will skip the correction in class, and send you directly to the dean’s office.

Making comments that are meant to be disruptive, attention seeking, or mean.

Defacing school property.

Using inappropriate language.

Fighting with another student.

Please use the washroom before or after class. Come to class prepared with your materials. Having to leave the classroom to get materials you forgot will result in a tardy. Students out of dress code will be referred to the deans.

Audio and visual reproductions of the social justice class without the teacher’s written consent are not permitted, and will be dealt with according to the policy set forth by the student handbook.
