What would the world be like without “.com”, “control+alt+delete”, or Microsoft? Technology is constantly improving and becoming more and more accessible to everyone. This can be especially beneficial to teachers who know technology and how to use it in the classroom. Through my Computer Science course, I have become an expert in applying Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Excel into teaching. One of the most valuable assignments I completed was a WebQuest on the Ocean. After I created the WebQuest, I presented the information through service learning in a third grade technology class. This was a huge learning opportunity because it was the first time that I presented my own lesson to a class full of students. While in Computer Science, I also created a brochure and classroom newsletter which will be irreplaceable tools for my future classroom. A speaker spoke to my class about the various ways to apply technology in the classroom as well. There are many technological tools that enhance students learning, and my Computer Science course has opened my eyes to the unending options for applying technology in the classroom.
