Welcome to the Childhood Education Examples of Technology Favorite Links and Resources section of my online portfolio.
These are a few links and resources that I found to be very helpful throughout my Block I semester at SUNY Cortland:
A helpful link I found on the internet was called "Teach with Technology." This web site helps you to integrate technology into classrooms, and there are also sublinks that offer online tools and resources. The site offers tools for students to use, and I think it is important to teach children computer skills at young age.

This link is full of ways that teachers can use Internet safe web sites in their classroom. There is many kid-safe links offered, and there are related to specific subjects. I think this site will be very beneficial for teacher who want to be learn more ways they can incorporate technology into the classroom.
My EDU 315 course has introduced me to blogs. I learned about how blog posts can travel all the way around the world, and this can make a difference in many educational minds. I think it is a very important link that students should learn about and use. If they post blogs, they will be practicing their typing, and grammar skills. If someone comments on their blog, they will learn how communicate with others. All these examples are why I am going to use this link in my future classroom.
Resources:
The VoiceThread program let's you upload many types of pictures, and through your voice or writing, you can describe the picture or ask though provoking questions about it. There are special features in the program that lets you circle specific parts of a picture to talk about, and it also let's you zoom in on certain areas.
Kerpoof is a very creative resource that lets you create mini movies, scenes, and so much more. This would be a great web site to incorporate in my future classroom, and I would use it to have the student create their own individualized story based on what they learned from a specific chapter in a book. The students will also learn about how to edit, and use the audio feature offered on this program.
A resource that was easy to use and helpful is the FlickrStorm program. It lets you upload many pictures at once, and there are tools that let you rearrange, and organize the photos. This resource would be especially useful in a science class that is teaching students about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and etc. The teacher could show many different pictures to help maximize the students learning. This would be very beneficial to all the visual learners in the class.
