Newsletter Rationale

Context:  The newsletter assignment was a project for CI-3750.  The newsletter will be for use with my future students and parents. I created the worksheet with the use of Microsoft PowerPoint.  I used a recent picture of myself using a digital camera and also an older photo of myself in first grade, using a scanner. I uploaded both photos through Adobe Photoshop. Some of the pictures needed cropping and resizing.  The newsletter consisted of my background in education, experiences, and personal life.

Impact:  The newsletter will be beneficial to my future students and parents during my internship this Fall semester.  The newsletter is a great way of introducing myself.  This is a good way of explaining education and background to my future classroom.

Alignment:

-NETS-T-V-C:  I have met this standard by creating a newsletter through the use of Microsoft Publisher, Adobe Photshop, and Taskstream.  By using this technology, I am able to provide all of my upcoming students with a professional newsletter introducing myself to the class and their parents.

-NETS-T-V-D:  I met this standard by using Microsoft PowerPoint to develop a newsletter for my future students and parents, introducing myself.  I used Adobe Photshop to scan a photo of myself as a first grader to place on my newsletter.  I also used a digital camera to take a photo of myself now, which I inserted onto my newsletter.

-NCDPI Standard 16, Indicator 3:  I met this standard by developing a newsletter to share with future students and parents.  The newsletter shares some information about myself, experiences in working with students, education, and personal life.  Parents will feel more involved with their child's school and those who work with them.
