Story Pictures

Story Pictures Rationale

Context:  The group that I worked with on the Story Pictures Project in CI-3750 consisted of myself, Lila Downs, and Amity Robinson.  This worksheet will be used by my future students.  We created the worksheet using Microsoft Office Word.  We used several different pictures for the project.  Some were scanned and others were saved to a zip drive.  We uploaded the images in Adobe Photoshop.  Some of the pictures needed cropping and resizing.  Our web site for the project was created using TaskStream.  We also used TaskStream for our Rubric, using the Rubric Wizard.

Impact:  The worksheet and web site will be beneficial to my students to use in strengthening their technology skills.  The worksheet online is a great project used individually or by a group.  Many different skills can be learned through the Story Pictures project.  Just by changing some of the requirements, students at all age levels can use this worksheet, either online or printed out.  All the directions and information is located on the web site that I have attached.  This would also be a great way of getting families more involved at home with their children's work because of its easy access.  (For those with computers at home).

Alignment:

-Nets-TVI-E:  This standard was met by putting the worksheet on my web page.  Students will be able to use the computer to complete the worksheet.  If needed, students are able to access the internet for more information.

-Nets-TII -A:  This standard was met by use of an editable program to create the worksheet.  The worksheet can be easily adapted to any student.  Depending on the student's grade level, the worksheet can be done by use of the computer or printed out as a hardcopy.

-Nets-TIV-C:  This standard was met by displaying a rubric.  Students will know exactly what is expected of them during the assignment with the use of the rubric.  There are three different levels and many criteria levels that need completion within the worksheet.

-Nets-TIV-A:  This standard was met by having students place pictures in the correct order based on a story read in class. The next exercise is for students to write a sequel to the story.  For example: What happened next?

-Nets-TVI-D:  This standard was met by putting safety rules online for students to easily access through the web page.
