8th Grade Social Studies Page

We will begin the year with a unit on Civics.  In order to fully understand how our goverment functions today we must look back in time.  We will first step back to the birth of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence and then learn about how our Constitution was written. Once we finish the historical component of the unit we will then turn our focus to the fundamentals of our government and how our consitution impacts you as a citizen of the United States.  We will finish up the unit by looking at the bill of rights and looking at the rights and freedoms provided to you the constitution.
