Application Process

The Re-specialization Certificate in Clinical Counseling (LPCC) application is online and ready for your application!

There has been an overwhelming response from prospective students for this amazing opportunity here at APU. Please be diligent in completing your entire application for the Re-specialization Certificate in Clinical Counseling. The sooner, the better!

 

Application Checklist:

1.       Online Application (Instructions for applying online below)

2.       $45 nonrefundable application fee (waived for APU alumni) – After you apply, you can pay by phone to our cashier at 626-815-4559, OR at your home.apu.edu applicant account.

3.       Official bachelors and masters degree transcripts (waived for APU alumni)

4.       Copy of Certificate of Clearance or Credential (can email or fax directly to me at 626-815-4571)

5.       Statement of Purpose (1-2 page, Describing professional history and why you are applying for the LPCC)

6.       Resume

 

Instructions to Apply Online:

-          First, go directly to the Online Application  (https://home.apu.edu:8051/DCS/mcp?p=800368r0368r0000000)

-          Create a New Account on the bottom of the page. (For both APU alumni and non-APU alumni. Each new application requires creating a new application account).

-          Once you make it to Step 1, please review the Screenshot below to find the drop down titles to apply for the Re-specialization Certificate in Clinical Counseling. (“Location” should be populated with the location you are hoping to attend).

-          You are choosing “Non-Degree,” however disregard guide text on the online application regarding not being able to receive financial aid because as a Certificate student with Half-Time status you will be eligible.

-          Please feel free to attach your statement of purpose and resume to the application or you can always email those to me at a later time.

-          Recommendations are not required, so please disregard questions concerning the names of your recommenders.

LPCC Re-Specialization Certificate Admission Requirements

- Completed Application for Graduate Admissions
- $45 non refundable application fee
(not required for APU alumni)
- Official masters degree transcripts
Official bachelors and masters degree transcripts sent to the Graduate Admissions Center
Official transcripts are one which APU receives unopened and bears the official seal of the college or university)
(not required for APU alumni)
- Proof of Certificate of Clearance, Teaching Credential or Emergency Permit
- Statement of Purpose
(A typed 1-2 page paper summarizing your purpose for wanting the LPCC Re-Specialization Certificate)
- Resume
