Identity as a Teacher

Teaching, Lesson Plans, Observations, Skills
Me and Luzko

The following attachments are examples of my work on my path to becoming a music teacher. The lesson plan is an example of how I would like to format my lessons. I have observed many schools throughout Miami-Dade County and have learned from very experienced and some not very experienced teachers. Such observations have shaped my goals as a teacher and have served as role models of what I should and shouldn't do in a music classroom. My abilities as a pianist are also evident as I accompany students in the School of Music. The videos I am accompanying in are great depictions of what I have done in school and working outside of school at local theaters; one is accompanying legit repertoire and the other is with non-legit repertoire. There is also a video of myself teaching my secondary instrument, the trumpet, to a non-musician middle school student. It involves me teaching him the basics of how to put the instrument together and how to make sound on it. The video of my peer teach in Introduction to Music Education is to give an example of where I am at now as a teacher and has given me an idea of the things I would like to work on to be even more effective in the music classroom.
