Student Rights and Responsibilities

I have the right to:
*learn while in school
*fair and equal treatment
*learn in a safe place

I have the responsibility to:
*obey school and classroom rules
*treat adults and peers with respect
*listen and not talk when the teacher is talking
*be prepared for class, participate in classroom activities, and complete assignment given by my teachers
*not distract others from learning

Consequences

+We are working as a class toward filling our jeep with magnets.  When we fill our jeep they students get to pick their class prize.  It can be a movie afternoon, ice cream sundae party, no homework night, extra recess, etc.

+Each student also has an individual reward card (punch card).  If they get 15 stars punched out for good behavior or work they get to pick from a list of special privileges.  

+Green Ticket for our school-wide Buck Filling program

*Loss of privileges
*Time off of recess
*Letter written home
*Phone call home

Homework

Homework does count as class participation and must be done on a nightly basis. 
*IMPORTANT*  Please note that if your child is struggling with that night's homework assignment we do not want him/her to spend hours becoming increasingly frustrated.  If this should happen please have your child make an attempt and jot us a note on the homework that your child struggled and needs help.  We will be happy to work with them one-on-one the next day.  We don't want homework to ruin a child's (or parent's) night.
