I returned all work to students. I took a class period to go over the post test with students. I showed them the class average, I answered their questions, and we compared their pretest scores to their post test scores. Their classwork and tests should be taken home to share with families. In my furture classroom I will have established regular (weekly) communication with families, and be able to notify families that their children will be bringing home exams. I would ask families to please look over their childrens' work.
My mentor teacher has obtained a copy of their grade for the entire fractions unit. She will be including this grade in their final math grade for the term. She will share this grade with parents during the next school conferences. During the conferences she will discuss any concerns she has about the students' progress with fractions.

In my future work sample, I will make sure I am spending enough time on each concept, and I will hold more mini-conferences with students.
