Podcasting

Podcasting is a way to share audio or video files on the Internet.  The files are coded in RSS, Real Simple Syndication, so that if you subscribe to a podcast, every time it changes, you get a new file downloaded to your computer.  I created a podcast of  Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson.  It is a lovely K-3rd grade storytime read or read-along as well as a great class-wide read along/play using the attached script.  I found the book in the children's section of the Monmouth County Library.

Meets NJCCCS for:  Listening, Reading, and Writing as shown below.

For Writing, students can identify when "the wool was pulled over their eyes" and write a story or script based upon that or the following situations:  A time when you felt left out and how you overcame the situation.  A time when you aided a friend, neighbor, new student, etc. who felt left out and encouraged them to join in.  A time when you felt scared because of the weather and what you did to cheer up.
