I am graduating this May, which is exciting and a little scary! My future plans include taking a year off before applying to physical therapy schools. I will be staying in Chicago this summer and then I am headed to Raleigh, North Carolina in August to spend my gap year somewhere new. I hope to travel around national parks during my year off and enjoy some time away from schoolwork. The applications for physical therapy programs open July 1st so, my summer will be busy with GRE preparation and getting my applications ready to submit. Hopefully I will have time to enjoy my last months in Chicago without school work! My long term career goal is to become a travel physical therapist after I complete my Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. As a travel PT I would be placed in new cities across the U.S. for temporary stays approximately three months at a time. I believe this will be a great way for me to see new areas of the U.S. without a long term commitment. Ideally, this will help me choose where I want to settle down in the future. Loyola has been a wonderful experience, and now I’m excited to see what the future holds!
