The course will focus on classroom strategies designed to provide classroom behavior management strategies that facilitate the learning environment and create a climate conducive to effective instruction. Students are expected to develop the skills necessary to become innovative problem solvers capable of good classroom management. Open ended discussions will center on emerging problems common to practicing teachers as well as other issues that affect classroom life. Students are expected to test the suggestions in the authentic environment of their respective classrooms. Student will be observed teaching at each level of the certificate in his/her classroom by a college field supervisor. 3 credits.

Directions - CAEP KEY ASSESSMENT #5: COMPOSITE PLAN AND REFLECTION REPORT

Summary:

The Composite Plan and Reflection Report addresses CAEP Key Program Assessment #5 and NYECS Standards 1c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 5b, 5c,  , ACEI Standard 1.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 4.0, 5.1, and inTASC Standards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10.

The Attachment Section below contains two document, the Composite Plan and Reflection Report, which contains the a full description of the assignment, and the Observation Memos and Lesson Plan Template, which contains the form to be filled out and submitted for this assignment.

As you submit your work, please be cautious to avoid the following scenarios:

• Do not forget to Submit your work after you Attach it. It is a two-step process – Attach then Submit. Changes can be made before you Submit; however, after submitting, the placeholder is locked.
• Remember to Attach all files to Submit the first time. Upon submission, the placeholder is locked, and can only be unlocked by having the faculty Evaluator return the submission to you for revision and resubmission.
• If you submitted files to the wrong placeholder, or submitted the wrong file to the proper placeholder, it will still require the faculty Evaluator to return the submission.

If there are two or more placeholders with the same name, generally one is an older requirement and one is a newer. In all cases the lower (or second, third) placeholder is the newer requirement, so please use that lower one. In many cases, the system has been altered to exclude the older requirements from your view of TaskStream; however, some exceptions may prevent this from happening. For further detail, please click on the requirement and look at the description. The effective date should be listed. For example, requirements may include “In use effective Fall 2014” or something similar.

This portion of the ePortfolio does not require you to submit any work for scoring. After the item has been scored, you will be able to view the results of your performance along with any comments from the evaluator. Some rows of the rubric results may be marked as “N/A” because the criteria described in that row were not required to be evaluated, or the rubric applies to candidates enrolled in a different program.  Please see "View Rubric" under "Evaluation" for the content of the observation rubric. You can view all of the results of your observations by clicking on the Scores/Results tab.

You are responsible for completing this fieldwork reflection. Use the following instructions to submit the form via the ePortfolio.

 

1. At the lower right, click on Complete Form.

2. Complete all required fields. Note: If you do not have all of the required information, you can Save and Return to finish the Form at a later date; however, do not click Submit Work until the Form is completed in its entirety.

3. Once entirely complete click Save and Return.

4. Click on the Scores/Results tab, scroll down to find the completed Form, then click on Submit Work. Follow any subsequent instructions.
