I work in the Athletic Training room at Loyola University Chicago. Loyola University Chicago is a Division 1 University in Chicago, Illinois. I work specially in the Norville Center for Intercollegiate Athletes right on campus. While in the training room I assist the Athletic Trainers in their daily activities, such as stretching and treating athletes, making supplies and materials, filing paperwork, and much more. I am involved with treating the athletes for any sort of pain or issue that they may have, through a variety of treatments and modalities. I also assist the athletes with their rehabilitation programs to bring them back from any injuries they have sustained. I have been involved in the creation and implementation of a few rehabilitation programs for a few athletes. Most of my time is spent helping out with anything that the trainers need an extra hand for. I also make sure the training room is kept clean and tidy. I will wipe down all the beds after being used, clean up scraps after taping, refill bottles of gels, solvents, and creams, and just generally help out. In addition to my work in the training room I also help out with games if they need me. I will help prepare the athletes for games by stretching them or giving them any last minute treatments that help improve their performance.
