The Slideshare below tells the story of my struggle of attempting to understand Illich's bold viewpoints in his article To Hell with Good Intentions, as well as easily understanding and agreeing with Morton's article The Irony of Service. Despite my many agreements and disagreements, both articles made me think. They made me think about volunteering and all it entails. They made me question why I choose to do service, as well as look at the intersection of power, privilege, and relationships in a new light. However, above all, the articles made me get to the core of my beliefs about volunteering, and for that, I am grateful.
