Academic Engagement

Every single day, I am able to incorporate the knowledge I learn in class into my clinical work. As a nursing student, I have learned how to quickly incorporate my knowledge into "real life" work. During clinical, I am given the opportunity to work directly with patients using the education and skills I been building on since freshman year. I educate patients on their illnesses, pass medications, start IVs, and allow patients the opportunity to talk about their hospital experience. I use every bit of my knowledge and service experiences to provide the best care possible to every patient I interact with in the hospital.

Nursing is not easy. It takes technical skill, interpersonal skill, and a mind prepared for a constant influx of information. However, it is the most rewarding profession in the world. It allows you to care, to love, and to learn. It allows you to use everything you have learned in life and to apply it to whatver patient is right in front of you. And it allows you to be a person for others, each and every day.
