Technology from STEM is an integral part of the Teacher Cadet curriculum. Students use numerous technologies as both teachers and learners.  Teacher Cadet technology includes:

• Internet safety and research
• papers and projects submitted using Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and MovieMaker
• demonstrating the ability to use a computer. printer, copier, scanner, digital camera, SmartBoard, and Mimio
• communication tools - email, Blackboard, digital dropbox, discussion board, blog, and Wiki.

One of the lessons in the technology unit explores STEM education.  Students are introduced to the history and trends of STEM education, the recognition of our county magnet school as one of the top technology high schools in the United States, and the STEM grant that our high school has received.  Another lesson investigates technology from both the viewpoint of the teacher and the learner. Students integrate technology into one of their internship lesson plans.  

Standards of Learning are an integral part of most Teacher Cadet lessons.  The competencies are identified in the second column of the Teacher Cadet Pacing Guide.  Two detailed lesson are shared as attachments.
