Indicator 7c

7c. The program contributes to increases in teacher/faculty knowledge of effective teaching and learning theory and practice.

Artifact 51 - evidence of teacher serving as mentor to other teachers

In 2008-09, I mentored Megan McNaughton - a first year teacher (see attached form)

In Fall 2009, I mentored a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at a nearby school who was rated "needs improvement" the previous school year; in June 2010 she received a satisfactory evaluation.

In 2009-10, I mentored Peggy Sherman - an experienced teacher who was new to Fairfax County (see attached form)

In 2010-11, I mentored Tia Johnson - a first year teacher (see attached form)

Artifact 52 - evidence of teacher/leader activities

In 2005-06, I was a peer coach for Janet Rockymore - an experienced teacher who was new to Virginia and our school.  I continue to serve as her "guide on the side."  (see attached letter) 

I have served as the Family and Consumer Sciences lead teacher since 2009.  I meet with the department monthly and attend the county lead teacher meetings twice a month. (see attached agendas)

I received National Board Certification in 2003.  It expires in 2013.  See attachment.
