Teach Cadet does not have any federal or state directed safety and sanitation regulations. Students follow the Fairfax County Right and Responsibilities Handbook while in the high school, traveling to their internship school and teaching in their classroom (a link is provided to the document).
The classroom has the required county safety information posted by the exit door (a picture is attached):
The Crisis Management Security Plan includes instructions for: evacuation; securing the building; lockdown; shelter in place; suspicious persons, threats, and classroom emergency; and tornados and severe weather. All staff are trained to execute the plan if necessary.
The Evacuation Map is clearly visible beside the door. It indicates the closest exit and directions to other exits if necessary.
The Family and Consumer Sciences Safety Rules are prominently displayed for all students to see (copy attached).
Since the H1Ni scare a couple of years ago, hand sanitizer is provided in the classroom. Two bottles sit beside the tissue boxes to remind students of good sanitation practices. There are also signs posted in the bathroom to remind students to wash their hands after using the bathroom (pictures attached).
As a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher, I have several health and safety certifications:
Students receive instruction several times the first week of school on safety and sanitation. Periodically students are reminded of safety and sanitation practices.
