Artifact 79 - ranking of certifications for 2008-09 compared to other programs, division and state

Fairfax County offered the NOCTI Education and Training Assessment to Teacher Cadets for the first time during the 2010-2011school year.  We were the only county in Virginia to take this assessment, so the only comparative data is the five schools that participated.

Facts:

  • All of my seniors took the test, but two students were absent on the second day of testing and did not complete the assessment.
  • Two other students had scores a fraction of a percent below the cut score.
  • Only one student had a score of 57% and wasn’t even close to passing; this is a student who has test anxiety.  She is currently enrolled at Northern Virginia Community College because of her SAT scores.  She plans to transfer to George Mason her junior year when an SAT score won’t be needed.
  • If only two of my four failing students had passed, our school pass rate would have been 77%.
