Reflection on University Experience

UNK Academics

Throughout my first two years at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, I have grown tremendously. In the beginning of my undergraduate career I had no idea what I wanted to be or do in the future. I began as a Business Administration major with an emphasis in Financing. However, once I realized that was not for me, I changed my major to undecided. It was after taking my first Psychology course at UNK that I realized I was more passionate about it than any other topic. I changed my major one last time to Psychology with a minor in Sociology. This has allowed me to explore the numerous places Psychology can take me.

During my sophomore year at UNK, I had many new doors open for me. After participating as an active member of Psychology Club, I was elected President which led to applying, and getting accepted into the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program along with two different jobs at the University. My experience both on and off campus at UNK has been amazing. I have been given the opportunity to take a wide variety of classes that will prepare me for what's to come. I only hope that, with the continued help from my professors and advisor, I continue on the path of success.
