St. Baldrick's is the annual philanthropy event my fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, hosts for the Loyola and Chicago community. The St. Baldrick's Foundation raises money in order to further medical research on the tragedy of childhood cancer. Starting in 2008, Sigma Alpha Epsilon had the ambitous goal of raising $1,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Now, six years later, "St. Baldrick's Day" has become Loyola's largest philanthropy event, raising more than $45,000 a year.As depicted above, hundreds of men and women of the University community shave their heads in solidarity with those children currently braving cancer.
