Music class today was evenly balanced between singing and dancing.  We sang a few warm-up songs and then dove into a few of the tunes we will be singing for the winter concert.  We also played a version of "statues" where we played pretend instruments (cued by simon says) and then froze in place when the drum beat stopped.

The Christmas songs have begun! We spent the majority of music class today singing a few Christmas classics with the intention of narrowing down our choices for the Christmas performance in December.  We also focused on rhythm at the end of class with a round of call and response with the lollipops and mallets.

We started off music class today with a few Halloween songs including "5 little pumpkins" and "Pumpkin, Pumpkin".  Then we listened to "Beacon of Liberty" from the film Madagascar and then talked about what instruments we heard.  We ended class by practicing rhythms on upside down cups and then moving on to hand drums.
