Bat athletes excelled today as we practiced a new ball drill, dividing into groups and focusing passing and receiving the ball and working together to score on goal. We discussed the significance of each player, recognizing that each of us makes a contribution to the team.

Wow what a rainy morning!  We appreciated this change in the weather as so different from all our Friday mornings together.  Today in O.E. we emphasized a very important principle guiding our O.E. time together – the importance of having a healthy and active lifestyle.  As a collaborative effort with the Kindergarten class’ healthy lunch initiative, we explored the sense of touch as we manipulated blocks of clay, creating pieces specific to the balanced diet that will serve as parts of the initiative school contest trophy.

The snow has nearly gone in our school playing field and Black Bats took advantage of this to work on ball skills today. With a goal of learning the game of kickball and developing toward proficiency in knowledge of the game and skill involved, we partnered up and practiced game positions of pitcher and kicker today. Students also worked with each other on ball control with throwing and catching, and shooting on a target. A beautiful morning outdoors –we finished class with an active game of Ranger Tag.
