Los murcielagos negros are truly excelling in Spanish keeping up to pace with the other classes at TVCS. They are working particularly on getting to know the human body in Spanish just as they are doing in English. We’ve worked on learning body parts through understanding the words for them and drawing them, reading about the muscular system in Spanish, and playing “Simon dice” to playfully recall what we’ve learned. Along with this, we’ll be working on learning animal body parts and continuing our phrases of the week…this week? Are you going to teach your new phrase of the week to a friend or family member? “Claro que si!”

Estoy muy orgullosa de los Murcielagos Negros! Along with their class project of learning about the human body in English, we’ve been reviewing body parts in Spanish in new ways—particularly, we’ve been creating an alien with: tres ojos grandes y azules, cuatro orejas cortas y rojas, y mas! We will also be looking into creating puppets together that will speak in Spanish with us and help us learn our body parts and other action words such as those from our newest song, “Que haces en la clase?” Don’t forget to use the phrase of the week… “Olvidalo!”

Hola murcielagos negros! I’ve really liked how the Black Bats of taken charge of their songs. They do a great job being enthusiastic about new songs, food words, and doing the actions well. As a part of their human body project, we’ll be concentrating on human body words in Spanish for the next few weeks. Where are your “ojos”? What do you hug with? What do you hear with? Also, make sure to use that Phrase of the Week with your family and friends: Checalo!!

Los murcielagos negros continue to love enjoying singing their Spanish songs all on their own! They remembered a lot about their colors, greetings, weather, phrases of the week, and more over the break. In the coming weeks, we will be working on getting through longer stories in Spanish, learning new songs, and working on autorretrato projects for the end of the year. Dale, Black Bats!
