Shark WebQuest

One day, as I was looking for a good book to read to a group of students, I came across a book about sharks. The children begged me to read it to them and after I did, the children became obsessed with sharks. Due to the limited supply of shark books in the library, I searched the internet for more information that could quench their thirsty minds. While searching the internet, I was amazed by the number of websites dedicated to these fascinating creatures. That experience inspired me to create this WebQuest.

By: Maria Cisneros

Grades 4-6

INTRODUCTION

cheese factory.jpg

It’s that time of year again—the Miller Family’s Annual Fun Family Time Vacation! Ugh…family vacations are always a bummer…there was the rock museum, the cheese factory, and who can forget the shoelace festival?! Luckily, it’s your turn to pick the destination this year: SEA WORLD! Your family is having the greatest time EVER touring the park, but just as you are about to enter the shark aquarium, the most unexpected thing happens: a few miles down the road the cheese factory experiences a cheese explosion causing chaos and the need for an immediate evacuation of all surrounding parks!

You are devastated. You had been saving the shark aquarium for last, and now the only sharks you will be seeing are the ones on the postcards you bought your friends. Thankfully, your intelligent teacher creates a SHARK RESEARCH ADVENTURE in which you will be able to learn everything there is to know about them. You will explore several types of sharks, get to see where they live, and even see A REAL LIVE GREAT WHITE ATTACK ITS PREY!!!
