One of the most helpful technology courses I have taken so far in my teacher education is Windows XP. This class has given me the necessary knowledge to successfully customize a computer to suit my personal needs. For example, I can clear a cluttered desktop leaving only the necessary icons by placing frequently used programs on my taskbar. With this helpful information, I will also be able to customize the computers in my classroom to suit any specific needs my students may have. For example, if I happened to have a vision impaired student in my class, I could easily adjust the screen’s contrast, text size, and pointer trails to best suit his or her needs. During the course, I created a resource manual that will allow me to share with fellow teachers the steps involved in customizing computers to fit the needs of impaired students.
