Career and College Readiness

When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”
Paulo Coehlo

Center High School counseling staff works with students to help create post secondary plans. There are so many things to consider after graduating high school: Where will I go to school?  What will I study? How do I find a job? How am I going to pay for my expenses? The questions are endless. This is why one needs to be prepared and knowledgeable about the opportunities and resources that are out there for students - now. Creating goals and creating a person plan of study are essential to getting to the places you want to go. Take some time to explore www.missouriconnections.org; this web site houses tons of resources that will connect you with other web sites, colleges, job opening's and information you need. The more information you have the better prepared you'll be; and, ultimately a stressful time for most people will be reduced to making educated decisions about your future.
