Center Senior High School Counseling Services and Goals
Guidance and counseling is a principal part of Center Senior High School's educational atmosphere. The Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Plan is followed as a model for implementing this program. The components of this Plan include:
  • Guidance Curriculum [curriculum geared toward career planning exploration, knowledge of self and others, and educational vocational development]
  • Individual Planning [activities that help students plan, monitor, and manage their own learning, personal, and career development]
  • Responsive Services [activities to meet immediate student needs with counseling, consultation, referral, or information],
  • Support Services [management activities that establish, maintain, and enhance the total guidance program].

CHS counseling staff are available to assist students and parents with information pertaining to academics, social/personal issues and college and career preparation. The student-counselor relationship at CHS is one in which a student is respected and is given freedom to express ideas and feelings. We believe this is necessary to gaining a meaningful understanding of self and their environment.

To provide relevant information for students and parents, the guidance department updates this website bi-monthly and when necessary. Included in this website is an events calendar, career exploration/ academic and personal resources, registrar information, scholarship opportunities and other pertinent information.  CHS Registrar’s Office is open all summer, monday through thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Please call ahead of visit.
At the start of ademic school year school  counselors will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Student appointments may be made before school, between classes, and after school.
