While learning about the slave experience, we learned about Harriet Powers who was a slave until the end of the Civil War.  We learned that she created a famous quilt showing the slave experience.  In this cumulative assignment, you are to create one quilt square that will be part of a class quilt.  Your square should include a minimum of four symbols about life as a slave, It should have at least 3 colors and the border should be colored.  Your quilt square should be on the special paper passed out in class.  This assignment should be worked on in class. It will be collected on Friday, October 1.
