IEP Accomdations

IEP.jpg

1b Demonstrating Knowledge of Students- This artifact is one of my class lists of IEP's. The names on the list are whited out. In each block that I had at Braddock there was a number of students who needed to receive special accommodations whether that be a 504 plan or an IEP.

1e Designing Coherent Instruction- When designing a lesson the first thing that was in front of me was this list. This list in front of me was a reminder to me that I need to think about some of the challenges that students could face with my lesson and how my lessons could be adjusted so that they could be successful during the lesson.

1d Demonstrating Knowledge of Resources- I got this resource from my schools special educator. I met with her multiple times to discuss different students and things that enhance their learning. It is important to meet with the special educators because they are they people in your school who know these types of students the best. The special educator at Braddock even invited me to take part in an IEP meeting about an individual student while I was there. Although I was just an observer, I did learn an incredible amount about how these accommodations are made for the students who need them, and it also gave me background information on what kind of home setting these students come from.
