Assuming professional responsibilities is an attribute that is most important when entering the field of education. It ties in many characteristics that are crucial to success in the classroom. First and foremost is accepting responsibility. When you are the professional in the a classroom you are responsible for the safety and learning of the students.

While at Fort Hill High School I had the opportunity to participate in parent teacher conference. I had asked my mentor teacher if he would let me talk to some parents on my own. I met with about 5 parents on my own and 15 in total along with my mentor teacher. This experience successful experience showed my ability to demonstrate ethical conduct with not only students, but colleagues and parents.

At Braddock Middle School I participated in two different professional development days. The first day of development was looking at written samples of SLO's and how to properly write one to turn in to the administration. This experience helped me in co-creating an SLO to be submitted to the principal of Braddock Middle School with my intern teacher.

The second professional development session was presented by Frostburg State University. The topic was about Common Core and PARCC vocabulary that teachers should be presenting their students with for them to be successful on the PARCC. After this development, my mentor teacher and myself made an effort to include these words into our lessons.
