Ms. Culligan's Educational and Artistic Background
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona in 2009 with two undergraduate degrees- B.F.A. Theater Arts Education and B.F.A. Art and Visual Culture Education.
I am currently perusing my Masters from Northern Arizona University- Tucson Campus in Elementary Education with an emphasis in cross-curricular arts integration.
I have been working here at Salpointe since 2009 teaching courses such as Introduction to Theater, Psychology,Ceramics and currently Introduction to 3D Art, Intermediate 3D Art. Advanced 3D Art and supervising AP Studio Art: 3D Emphasis.
In the Theater Arts I have had a lot of experience as a performer, director, designer and technician. I also have focused on Theater for Social Justice and have been president and a member of student run theater projects that raise awareness and support for social justice issues on campus and in the community.
In the Visual Arts my studio emphasis in Sculpture with a focus in Ceramics. I also like to paint and create instillation or performance art pieces. My work is very conceptually based and often is a visual discussion with the viewer of current world issues or the human experience. I strive to create community and understanding through collaborative projects with other artists.
In addition to my degrees I have gotten to work professionally as an artist and teacher for Lexington Children's Theatre, Kentucky Beowulf Theater, Tucson Parks and Recreation, KidzArt, Camp Lindenmere, Wildcat Drama, Tucson Sculpture Resource Center, Tubac center for the Arts and the Tucson Museum of Art.
