During the Fall Semester of 2005 I was in Block I. During Block I, I did my internship at W.A. Young Elementary in Burke County. I was an intern in Mrs. Phipps Kindergarten class every Monday and Wednesday for about 6 weeks. During this time I assisted and observed Mrs. Phipps class. I created and implemented a word lesson, a guided reading lesson. I also conducted and analyzed a spelling assessment on each student in the class. These lessons were the first lessons I ever taught to students and I the experience for my students and me were both memorable.

During the Spring Semester of 2006 I was in Block II. During Block II, I did my internship at Mountain View Elementary School in Ashe County. I was at this school every Wednesday from January until March 28th. After this date, I interned at Mountain View full time until April 27th. I was an intern in Mrs. Betty Davis's Second grade class. I had to teach a Unit plan on sound. This was taught for five consecutive days. I had to teach a Social Studies, a Science lesson, and three consecutive Mathematics lessons. I was also responsible for observing the class, assisting the teacher, helping students with their work, conducting a Reading Assessment, and organizing a Service Learning Project. I also read a different book to the students after lunch every Wednesday before I was there full time.
