I know that putting qualified teachers into the classroom is extremely important.  One way to enhance my skills and knowledge about the field of education is by participating in educational events.  The following is a brief summary of the activities I have attended and what I have learned at them.

This panel of educators ranged from teachers to administrators giving the key to unlocking a successful education career.  They gave advice on how to be a better teacher, how to relate to students, and on first-year challenges.  I learned about ESL endorsements, differentiating instructions based upon students’ needs, and about focusing on the child more than the subject.

Cindy Chovich, Arizona's 2004 Teacher of the Year Ambassador, spoke about how to develop and maintain strong relationships with students.  She provided insight on the importance of teaching and some of the methods that she employs in her classroom.  I learned information on what a “looper” is, and how to make each child feel important.
