TPE 12: Professional, Legal, and Ethical Obligations

Overview: This is a scanned copy of the Monthly Calendar that was sent home with my kindergarten students. The calendar provided a day-by-day outline of what was planned for homework, important events (field trips, picture day, etc.), and what themes, letters, and words would be introduced. The other side of the calendar provided the same information in Spanish.

Justification for TPE 12: This calendar provides evidence of the attempts and importance of keeping parents involved and informed with their children’s learning and class expectations. This calendar is passed out at the beginning of the month so parents have a chance to look over the homework assignments and events so that they can better plan out their days and weeks. It is also important to provide the calendar in different languages so that it is accessible to all families. This calendar makes sure to identify responsibilities of teachers and students to ensure that all academic expectations are met in certain periods of time. This demonstrates my professional obligation to keep my parents informed so that students can be supported throughout the year.
